Background: This man is the quintessence of evil. Although he was passed over for promotion within the RSRR due to his sadistic nature, he was kept around because of the sheer reliability of his skills. The habit of returning from battle drenched in the blood of his victims earned him the nickname 'Red Phantom', which is ironically a synonym for his actual name. On the surface, Carmine appears to be your run-of-the-mill homicidal lunatic, but he is extremely intelligent and he does have goals. Most of his plans are sinister in nature, including the desire he once held to incite a civil war within the RSRR and lead a coup d'etat against his superiors.
Carmine was given a mission to lead a team of RSRR soldiers in an effort to find a way to break into Nissentia and possibly initiate an attack on the Nation. Although the team did infiltrate the capital city of Nissentia, a mysterious group interfered with communications between the team and the RSRR. Through this group Carmine came to meet the Deathless Lord who awakened the madness within Carmine's soul and convinced him to turn traitor. Carmine assimilated into the new group under the Deathless Lord.
Carmine and Suunus, another vassal of the Deathless Lord, went on a brief rampage in Nissentia. They killed citizens and soldiers alike, before fleeing into the wilderness. Originally the pair decided to attack the RSRR, but instead they went to Lord Bocabba to beseech him for more powerful weapons. The Deathless lord sent Carmine and Suunus to the other side, they were to find a powerful living beings, to be used as sacrifices in forging the new weapons. Two power demons offered themselves up as sacrifices on the condition that the humans create a rift connecting the demon realm to the human realm. Carmine fulfilled this request, and acquired a new demonic sword called Pandemonium.
With new powers and weapons, Carmine and Suunus were called upon by the Deathless lord once again. He provided them with a golden amulet, and instructed his minions to seek out a female Grushafuan mage named Elmina. The pair were successful, and the amulet cursed the mage and allowed the Deathless lord to take control of her body. Lord Bocabba killed the sage who was closing the rifts at the fallen star. The trio went on another killing spree. Their fun was brought to an abrupt end when Sage Jeremiah broke the curse on Elmina, and also able to over-power Suunus and Carmine. The pair barely managed to escape.
Their lord informed them that hundreds of demons were awaiting their arrival fallen star. After a week of resting, Carmine and Suunus now sought to redeem their loss. They led the army of demons into the territory of the Grushafu Nation. Several villages were massacred, and city close to the capital was also captured, it's inhabits were slaughtered.
