I love studying the crusades, not only from the english view, but the history on the arabs is pretty interesting too, the crusades are just as interesting as the romance of the three kingdoms.

Check out this link for a summary of the book!
Brethren Summary
~Here is an excerpt from the book:
"You have spent time in vigil, that you might reflect upon the sacred office that has been offered to you." The Visitor's deep voice filled the chamber. "William Campbell, son of James, do you now wish to accept the mantle, knowing in doing so you shall cast away your worldly duties and become a true and humble servant of Almighty God?"
"I do," answered Will.
And so his vows began.
......."Kiss this blade and accept the burden of protection placed upon you. Against all enemies shall you defend the one true faith and, in direst need, shall you offer your life in this defense."
Will leaned forward to touch his lips to the shaft, his breath misting the blade.
......
~Hope you enjoyed that! If you want to read more let me know and I will try to find an e-book version!
